Vital signs are usually recorded once every 8 hours in patients at the hospital ward. Early signs of deterioration may therefore be easily missed. To facilitate wireless and continuous monitoring, ‘wearable’ sensors have been developed, which may capture deteriorating patients at an earlier stage.
