David Mizrahi, Algorithm Engineer & Data Scientist
Tell me about your role and what you do at EarlySense?
I’m an algorithm engineer and data scientist in Earlysense. Our team develops both signal processing methods and machine learning algorithms to extract clinical markers from Earlysense contactless piezo-electric sensor and to bring significant insights to the users. In our last project we took a big database of patients who have used Earlysense technology in order to develop a model for early prediction of patient deterioration.
When and why did you join EarlySense?
I joined Earlysense 2 years ago after working in medical companies. I have a master’s degree in bio-medical engineering from Tel Aviv University and I was always interested in combining the engineering solutions to the medical field. The last year showed that the medical solutions are very important during the COVID-19 outbreak.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I like to be part of a professional team that gives a solution to many challenges in the medical field. I feel that I learn every day and that I contribute to the world by developing interesting machine learning algorithms. My role consists of creativity and devotion and it is very satisfying!
What do you enjoy most about working in Med Tech?
Knowing that my work can save a life.
What has been your biggest learning experience since starting at EarlySense?
During the last 2 years I improved my abilities in the signal processing field and the machine learning field. I helped to make ideas become a product during the entire R&D process of research, design, coding, testing and evaluation.
What do you like to do outside of work – what are your passions?
I like nature, animals and hiking. I have a dog named “Sky” and we like to travel together. I also like gadgets and new inventions. During my free time I like to see movies (Netflix/Cinema) and go to live music shows.
